Students seeking a diverse education in a field that connects with nearly every other professional discipline can enroll in a Communications Summer Program. These programs are often hosted by colleges and are aimed at teaching students about various communications functions in a classroom setting and through on-the-ground experiences with media, public relations, video production and web design organizations. Offered as day and residential options, the programs are generally coed and feature expert faculty and professional instructors. Students are introduced to subject areas such as audio engineering, digital photography, journalism, marketing, digital advertising, radio broadcasting, video production and web media and design. Coursework and field work can bolster students’ portfolios and prepare them for success in college and beyond.
